Legal rules for using the Mission Neighborhood Health Center website.
Last updated: 2026-05-07
This website is not medical care. Information on this website is educational only. It never replaces advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a healthcare provider. For emergencies call 911; for mental-health crisis dial 988; for MNHC care call (415) 552-3870.
By accessing or using the website at www.mnhc.org (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. These terms form an agreement between you and Mission Neighborhood Health Center, a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit, legal name Mission Area Health Associates (“MNHC”, “we”, “our”).
The Site provides information about MNHC's services, locations, programs, and health-related resources for the communities we serve. The Site is informational. Patient care is delivered in person or via telehealth by licensed providers — not through this Site.
The content on the Site is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Reading the Site, emailing an address found here, or using any online form or information does not establish a provider-patient relationship between you and MNHC or between you and any MNHC provider.
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on this Site. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:
All content on the Site — including text, photographs, graphics, logos, icons, data, and software — is owned by MNHC or its licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. The “Mission Neighborhood Health Center” and “MNHC” names and associated logos are trademarks of MNHC.
You may view and print pages of the Site for personal, non-commercial use — including sharing legal notices (HIPAA, nondiscrimination, language assistance, accessibility, sliding fee) with family members and medical providers. Commercial use, republishing, modification, or the creation of derivative works requires our prior written consent.
The Site links to third-party websites — including PayPal (donations), the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (Office for Civil Rights), ProPublica (nonprofit Form 990 and financial data), Kroll Inc. (data-breach disclosure services for the TriZetto incident), and others. These links are provided for convenience. MNHC does not endorse and is not responsible for the content, services, or privacy practices of external sites. Inclusion of a link does not constitute a recommendation, sponsorship, or affiliation. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's terms and privacy policy.
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” with no warranties of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. Although we strive to keep information current, MNHC does not warrant that the Site's content is accurate, complete, or error-free at all times, or that the Site will operate without interruption. Clinic hours, providers, and program details may change; always call (415) 552-3870 to confirm before traveling.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MNHC, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of the Site or your inability to access or use the Site, even if MNHC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
This limitation is separate from and in addition to the federal coverage under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA, 42 U.S.C. § 233(g)–(n)) that applies to medical-malpractice claims related to MNHC providers' clinical practice. Nothing in these Terms modifies FTCA coverage or any other right available under applicable law. If any limitation of liability is unenforceable under applicable law, it will apply to the fullest extent permitted.
Use of the Site is governed by our Website Privacy Policy. Protected health information (PHI) collected when you receive care is covered separately by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
MNHC works toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If you encounter an accessibility issue, see our Accessibility Statement.
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. Clinical services for minors at MNHC are governed by HIPAA and California Family Code §§6920–6929 (minor consent), not by these Terms. Parents and guardians with questions may contact compliance@mnhc.org.
MNHC complies with applicable federal and state civil-rights laws, including Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. See our Notice of Nondiscrimination and Grievance Procedure.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable federal or state law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be summarized at the top of this page for at least 30 days after the change. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of the new terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the legal notices referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and MNHC regarding the use of the Site. Failure to enforce any provision will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
