$25,000 Kaiser Permanente Grant Funds Mission Neighborhood Health Center’s Integrated Behavioral Health Program

Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) is the proud recipient of a $25,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente San Francisco-Community Benefits Grants Program to fund the MNHC Integrated Behavioral Health Program. The program is focused on providing behavioral health services in the primary care settings of the Adult Medicine and Women’s Clinic at MNHC’s Shotwell Clinic site. Currently, MNHC’s behavioral health professionals provide counseling to nearly 1,000 patients/year. The grant will enhance behavioral health services that are culturally relevant to our patient population and strengthen our care team efforts.

Benefits of the program include de-stigmatizing mental health/substance abuse services; supporting patients in managing their depression and-or chronic conditions; and improving patient quality of life. Patients needing more intensive interventions receive facilitated referrals to our community partners. The grant is expected to directly benefit 250 patients.

We are grateful for Kaiser Permanente’s support.

About the Kaiser Permanent San Francisco Community Benefits Program: Kaiser Permanente’s community involvement uniquely pairs grant funding with 65 years of clinical expertise, medical research, and volunteerism to support prevention-focused, evidence-based programs that are expanding access to care and creating health environments.
