MNHC Expression of Gratitude

During this pandemic, MNHC has received donations of personal protective equipment from community members, local businesses, fellow organizations and individuals who did not hesitate to help our organization during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations have ranged from cloth masks, face shields, gloves, hand sanitizer and many other personal protective equipment supplies. These donations were vital to help us keep our staff and patients safe.

We want to express our gratitude and appreciation to all of you. Without the community’s help, we would not have been able to respond as quickly as we did.

We have also received grants and generous donations from foundations, organizations and businesses, which have allowed us to continue to administer COVID-19 tests to community members and keep our operations running to provide primary medical services to nearly 13,000 of our patients.

We appreciate the funds and PPE donations received from:

Crankstart
UCSF
SFCCC
Direct Relief
Wells Fargo Bank
Comerica Bank
Baker Street Foundation
Norcal Foundation
Golden Gate Warriors
Kaiser Permanente

Update: MNHC’s Fundraising Campaign

Thank you to our many donors who have donated to our food insecurity campaign!

With your donations, we have been able to provide over 2,000 pounds of food to our patients and community members receiving COVID-19 tests at our health center.

We were also able to grant over 190 families experiencing food/or financial insecurity with financial assistance or grocery gift cards through referrals from MNHC nutritionists and behavioral health specialists.

Your donations truly make a difference in the lives of our patients, take Mary* (name changed due to privacy), who had her baby in April. She was doing well, but around June she called the clinic, stating that she had very low appetite, and was concerned about her reduction of breastmilk due to not eating much. She feared she would not be able to continue providing her baby high quality breastmilk. She did well with liquids (such as smoothies), but unfortunately her blender had broken the previous couple of weeks and could not make any smoothies to drink throughout the day. MNHC’s nutritionist provided Mary with a $50 visa gift card so she could buy a blender and referred her to free food pantries in the city.

She expressed to her nutritionist, “My husband and I are not working because there is no work for us during the pandemic so we did not have any resources/cash to buy a new blender. This gift card really helped me because I was able to build back my appetite by starting with high calorie smoothies, and then working my appetite up so I could have 2-3 meals per day. I noticed a big difference in my mood and energy and am very grateful.”

Every dollar makes a difference as $20, $30, $40 can make a huge difference in many of our patient’s life. We are so grateful.

We invite you to continue to support the community during this unprecedented time by donating to our campaign.
