Excelsior Site Continues to Expand Services to Better Serve the Community
To better accommodate the needs of its patients, last autumn MNHC’s Excelsior site started offering adult services three Saturday’s a month from 8am to noon. The clinic is designed to provide patients with access to care for unexpected acute needs. The new hours allow busy families the opportunity to see healthcare providers on weekends.
“The additional services on weekends has been well received by the community,” said Brad Williams-Padilla, MD, Clinical Chief, Excelsior Clinic Adult Medicine.
Beginning in June, pediatric appointments will also be offered at the Saturday clinics.
Angela Kim, PNP, who will see patients on Saturday, joins the other providers already offering pediatric care Monday to Friday: Brent Lim, MD; Concepcion “Betsy” Segarra, PNP; and Lisa Garrett, PNP
“Our practitioners have a deep commitment to our patients and the community,” said Jaime Ruiz, MD, Associate Medical Director, Chief, Pediatrics at MNHC. “With the additional hours on Saturday and our full coverage during the week, we can now serve more patients.”
The additional hours is just one of the many improvements at the Excelsior site to improve access for the community. Others include a stronger nurse support, full time coverage for all adult and pediatric services – 5 days a week, the growth of the Teen Services program and an improved phone services to better serve patients.
“We are pleased to be able to offer patients greater access to care,” said Dr. Williams-Padilla. “With the additional staff and expanded hours we know we can continue to meet the needs of the community.”
