A Note from Our Executive Director

As MNHC looks forward to the new opportunities this year brings, we also look ahead for new ways to serve and provide a cultural embrace to the community we serve. Our commitment to provide culturally relevant, primary and preventative health care while responding to emerging community needs is ever- prevalent for 2015. As you will read in this issue, MNHC has opened its doors to welcome immigrant children fleeing escalating violence in parts of Central America. We have responded to the needs of these children and their families by joining the Alero Project, a program that provides mental health services to undocumented immigrant children who have experienced trauma.

We share the success of the Alero Project along with news on our Patient Advisory Committee, a group of patients who provide feedback about how we can better meet the needs of patients and improve the patient experience.

We also highlight some of MNHC’s activities with patients in participation of American Heart Month. The health center is committed to provide patients with events that bring awareness to health issues that are prevalent in the community we serve.

Lastly, we look back at the success of our Christmas toy drive and the celebration of Clínica Esperanza’s 25th anniversary in 2014.

We are committed to provide services that will grow our relationship with the communities we serve and continue to open our doors to those in need.
