CLINICAL COORDINATOR OF WOMEN’S SERVICES
(Part-time Permanent/28 hours per week with option to work full-time with Adult Medicine responsibilities)
The Mission Neighborhood Health Center is a non-profit, multi-service health care facility offering comprehensive health services for ambulatory patients. The center offers primary health care services, adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB/GYN and HIV Services. The Center is committed to high quality, culturally competent primary care services, focusing on the Latino/Spanish-speaking population.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Coordinator of Women’s Services is responsible for Women’s Health services provided at MNHC in the Women’s Clinic and Women’s/Adult Health Services. Examines, diagnoses and prescribes the treatment for patients. This position is currently at ¾ time but may be a full time position with at 20-30% time in adult medicine.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Medical Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Duties
- Directs the medical services of the Women’s clinic including Family Planning and Gynecology Service.
- Provides ambulatory acute and preventive medical services to women. Provides leadership in the development of culturally competent women-sensitive care in the areas of health education programming, reproductive health, breast health, menopause.
- Oversees gynecological care given by MD’s and mid-levels (FNPs, CNMs), RNs and medical assistants in Women’s Clinic.
- Consults with specialist, and hospitalist/residents regarding referrals, and patient’s course if hospitalized.
- Supervises medical and family nurse practitioner students who rotate through the Women’s Clinic.
Administrative Duties
- Under the guidance of the COO and Medical Director serves as the first line administrative link with contracted OB services from UCSF.
- Work with charge nurse, nursing director, medical director and COO to address clinic flow issues and process improvements
- In coordination with the COO, supervises the Family Planning Counselor for contraception and pregnancy choices.
- Is a member of the MNHC Quality Assurance Committee and participates in Clinical Chiefs and Department Heads Committee Meetings.
- Creates, reviews and revises Women’s Clinic medical protocols.
- Overseas Quality Management of Women’s Clinic including oversight of Pap and Mammogram tracking.
- Conducts yearly performance evaluations of the staff he/she directly supervises and participates in discipline of department’s professional staff as appropriate.
- Conducts monthly Women’s Clinic Department meetings in coordination with charge RN. Attends outside meetings as required as a representative of MNHC.
- Recommends staffing patterns and appointments for medical providers in accordance with established MNHC standards and productivity requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid California Medical License and DEA License
- Completed residency in Family Practice. Board eligible (Board certified preferred.)
- Previous experience in community health care setting preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Program Management skills
- Knowledge and sensitivity working with diverse cultures/communities
